God's promise

GOD’S PROMISE

The only thing that got me this far
Is God's heavenly grace.
When I was crying I ran to Him
And he wiped the tears off my face.
I told Him how bad things had gone
God said, "Child, do not fear"
I told Him how he hurt me so
God said, "That boy isn't worth your tears."
He said He had given me a special gift,
He said it was on it's way
God told me if I was good
I just might get it today.
So I did my best,
I did what I was told
Then at the end of the day
You came up bare and bold.
You told me how much you cared,
You told me exactly how you felt
I knew you were what God promised me
What you said made my heart melt.
We have grown so very close
Ever since that day
And then I get so happy
Because I took that time to pray.
